July
Look at evergreens to make sure they are getting enough water. Also look for dry spots in lawn shrubs and flower beds. Make sure the mulch beds are well-mulched to protect plants during the heat of the day. July tree checklist:
- 2nd generation of IPS beetle spray.
- Make sure the garden is well-mulched to protect plants during the heat of the day.
- Fertilize annuals and perennials with fertilizer.
- Check for Aphids.
- Apply Cambistat growth regulator.
- Trim trees.
- Fertilize the lawn.
- Elm leave beetle 2nd generation.
- Enviro-tree fertilization to promote health of tree.
- Sprinkler tune up.
August
Pay particular attention to good watering practices this month. Stressed areas in the full sun, or on south or western slopes may need extra watering. Weed your garden frequently. Watch to see that weeds do not grow so large that they flower and drop seeds (causing more weeds!).

September
- Plant new perennials.
- Begin paying attention to the weather forecasts for predictions of early frosts.
- Cover plants if necessary.

- Check for Aphids.
- Plant a new tree.
- Fertilize the lawn.
October
- Plant hardy bulbs for spring blooming.
- Remove leaves and plant material.
- Winterize the irrigation system.
- Wrap tree under 4 years old or thin bark trees under 3” caliber.
- Trim trees.
- Check for Aphids on pines and Spruce.
- Aerate and fertilize the lawn, use post-emerge gent for weed control.
- Plant a new tree.
- Blow out sprinklers.
