ArborScape Sustainability Policy

Future Generations Depend On Smart, Sustainable Practices

We Believe The “Little Things” Can Make All The Difference.

Environmental Sustainability

As Per The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ArborScape’s Tackles Sustainability Practices That Are Based On The Simple Notion- That Everything That We Need For Our Survival And Well-Being Depends, Either Directly Or Indirectly, On Our Natural Environment.

Sustainability Creates And Maintains The Conditions Under Which Humans And Nature Can Exist In Productive Harmony. This Allows The Fulfilling Of Social, Economic, And Other Requirements Of Present And Future Generations.

We Believe That Sustainability Is Important To Making Sure That We Have, And Will Continue To Have, The Water, Materials, And Resources To Protect Human Health And Our Environment. Which Is Why We’ve Taken On The Initiative To Practice Sustainability Whenever Possible.

Our Sustainability

"We don't have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world."

-Howard Zinn

Sustainable Business Practices

Besides Helping Trees, We Also Have Tackled Some Of The Problems Many Business Have In Becoming More Sustainable.

Since The Beginning, ArborScape Has Tried To Make Sure Chippers And Trucks Don’t Run Excessively When On Site.

We also Re-Use Available Materials To Fix Equipment And Also Purchase Equipment Which Can Be Used For Different Types Of Tree Care Jobs Which Helps Reduce Our Carbon Footprint. And In 2018, We Became More Ambitious In Acquiring Hybrid Vehicles To Cut Gas Consumption. While That Larger Investment Has Been Successful For Smaller Vehicles, We’re Still Frustrated By The Lack Of Available Bucket And Dump Trucks In The Hybrid Category.

However, We Hope To Continue Investing In Solutions That Work For Our Business. For instance, we also utilize tree recycling opportunities to ensure that trees never go to waste here at ArborScape.

Some of the leftover wood from job sites is turned into firewood to resell, or is used for fun, custom wood working in our shop. Our goal is to reduce as much waste as possible in ways that benefit all of us.

And Our leftover slabs of wood can be milled for a smooth finish, or left with a live edge for a woodsy aesthetic. This way you can be happy with your outdoor and indoor landscape, and not have to worry about perfectly good scraps piling up in landfills. It’s through the little things that can help us all practice sustainability.

Tree Recyling

wood chips

Each Day Our Crew Recycles The Debris We’ve Removed At Mountain States Wood Recyclers, Inc. Other Tree Services May Say They Recycle Your Branch And Trunk Debris But Many Don’t Follow Through And Just Dispose Of The Debris In The Garbage.

This program was a brainchild of David, the company owner, and his wife. They found that many trash removal companies will not take your Christmas tree or have restrictions such as cutting it up to a certain size. If they do take it, it usually ends up in a landfill. So we started picking them up for a small fee, sending them through a chipper and sending them off again to the wood recycling center.

Remember ArborScape during the holiday season to have your Christmas tree recycled!

As mentioned, all our trees are recycled and used to create wood and finer mulch for soil amendments and composting. 90% of tree debris is recycled with the remaining 10% sold as a soil amendment.
