The Truth on Tree Removals

At ArborScape, we understand the sentimental and ecological value each tree adds to Denver’s urban canopy. We take great care in nurturing residential and commercial trees throughout their lifecycle. However, sometimes, tree removals become an unfortunate but necessary step for safety, aesthetics, or the tree’s health.

As Denver’s trusted tree service provider, we believe in building relationships with our clients and their trees. Our mission is to deliver exceptional and safe tree removals that meet and exceed your expectations. From the moment you call us to the final sweep-up, you’ll experience the quality and commitment that sets ArborScape apart from the rest.

As tree doctors, we’d prefer to try to keep a tree healthy, but we know that sometimes total tree removal is the best option. We know it can be hard to say goodbye, so our arborists provide free estimates for your records and ensure the removal process goes as smoothly as possible for your peace of mind.

There are many reasons why you may need a total tree removal, but they may not be so easy to see until you have a certified arborist check it out or one of our techs is in the tree and can see other potential issues up close. Whatever reason or issue, we’ll keep you in the loop so you’re always involved in the tree care in your yard.

Top Reasons for Tree Removals

One of the top reasons for a removal is disease. With our Colorado soils and temperatures, trees are already prone to stress, making them an easy target for pests to increase the damage. While we have treatment plans to keep your trees safe and healthy, sometimes the tree is too far gone to save.

It’s not always easy to see if your tree only needs a trim or a total removal, so it can be vital to get an arborist’s opinion. And, full disclosure, even then, sometimes there could be something we missed by only looking from the ground.

Sometimes, it’s not until our climbers are up in the tree that they’re able to see what else is going on with the tree. Occasionally, we can see if the disease has spread too far or if there’s too much dead to keep a healthy canopy.

Tree removals are also a good option when the tree gets too old. With some species, after a certain point, the tree can’t properly absorb nutrients from the soil. This can cause the tree to start eating itself by sapping nutrients from its limbs and causing it to rot from the inside. This is another issue that we may not sometimes see until we’re actually up in the tree.

However, some things will make it easy to see that a removal is necessary. Things like storm damage, where too many branches snapped, or when the tree is wholly toppled over are the most obvious. Then there are some trees that start to hollow out.

When a tree starts to hollow out, it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a risk, as these trees can easily topple during storms. Hollow trees can also act as a cozy home for all sorts of pests and critters that can then wreak havoc on the rest of your yard.

As we mentioned, we know it can be difficult to part with a beloved tree, but sometimes it’s better in the long run to do that instead of throwing money at a problem that will never quite resolve.

However, as certified arborists, we understand the benefits of trees and will work with you on replanting after your tree removal. We work with a nursery to warranty your tree, so if any issues happen with the transplant, we’ll make sure to get your tree properly established and growing.
