4 Important Tree Services for Spring

Well, it seems like winter decided to skip us this year, so let’s start getting your trees ready for the season with 4 important tree services for spring.

ArborScape has certified journeyman arborists on staff. Our knowledge in pest and disease management, as well as our hands-on experience in the Denver area, has made us the company you can rely on for overall tree care.

Though ArborScape provides quality tree care throughout the year, a few of these 4 important tree services have to be done in the spring.

4 Important Tree Services for Spring

Spring Deep Root Fertilization

If your trees have been looking a little dreary lately, then a spring fertilizer could be the perfect pick-me-up! Our Denver soils don’t always provide enough nutrients for trees to bloom as well as they could.

Because of this, we recommend this for almost every tree we see, unless we see that its canopy coverage is doing just fine.

Our spring deep root fertilizer is a soil injection that provides your trees with a formula of nutrients and slow-release nitrogen that helps promote both foliage production and fine root development.

Spring IPS

If you have any pines or spruce trees on your property, we highly recommend our two rounds of IPS treatments, one in the spring, and another in the summer. The first round will help target the adult beetles, while the second round targets any larvae that are starting to emerge.

This spray helps control and mitigate mountain pine beetles from destroying your pines and spruces.

Since mountain pine beetles are so prevalent here, we do consistently recommend this treatment for spruce and pine trees, but there are some symptoms to be on the lookout for.

These beetles can stop the flow of water through the tree, so you’ll start to see a gradual change in the color of the foliage before it dies. The leaves will go from green, start to turn yellow, then become a reddish brown.

You may also see boring dust near the base of the tree, or even popcorn-shaped pieces of resin around the trunk.

Merit Soil Injection

This soil injection is an insecticide designed to target borers, bark beetles, and other leaf-eating insects. Injecting this treatment before the tree fully blooms allows enough time for the chemical to go through the tree’s entire system and keep it safe from the roots to the very tip of the canopy.

If you notice you need this service but it’s a bit too late in the season, we also offer a safari injection that acts as a substitute for the merit injection the first time around. So while we’d start your tree on the safari injection, we’d switch to the merit injection the following year.

Denver Tree Trimming Services

Beyond these PHC treatments, trimming your trees also has many benefits. Though ArborScape can trim nearly any tree at any time in the year, a spring trimming can do your tree wonders.

Trimming in general can benefit your tree and property! Removing dead or diseased limbs helps create more breathing room for the healthier branches. Removing weak branches can help prevent property damage, and pruning out overgrowth can help provide building or mowing clearance.

But trimming in the springtime can be beneficial, as it’s already ending its dormancy cycle and is ready for rejuvenation. So, trimming your trees in the spring can promote healthier growth for the entire tree.

So keep your trees safe and healthy this spring by choosing ArborScape for these 4 important tree services! Give us a call today at (303) 806-8733 or fill out the form below to receive a free quote so you can benefit from amazing trees.
