Scientific Preventative Treatments
Precision Contact Sprays
Our targeted tree spraying uses a strong bonding agent. Once dry, the spray resists weather wear and lasts up to six weeks to stop active, leaf-chewing pests.
Cambium Layer & Soil Injections
When pests nest deep within the cambium layers (the bark or “blood system” of the tree), we use direct micro-injections and soil drenches. Because the treatments move directly from the roots to the leaves, there is zero chemical run-off, protecting our local groundwater supply.
Pest Defense
We apply proactive sprays and injections to prevent infestations from Emerald Ash Borer, Mountain Pine Beetle, IPS Bark Beetle, Spider Mites, Aphids, Borers, Pine Zimmerman Moths, and Scale.

- Biannual Emerald Ash Borer Injections: We design a multi-year defense plan for ash trees, applying systemic bark injections every other year in June, precisely after the leaves have budded out.
- Multi-Step Seasonal Beetle Spraying: To protect pines and spruces against active IPS and Mountain Pine Beetles, we schedule an initial spray in March to target the first generation, followed by a second summer spray to protect against emerging larvae.
- Treatment Longevity Mapping: We program our maintenance around treatment lifespans—ensuring soil injections (which last up to 225 days) and bark injections (which last 30 to 75 days) are seamlessly rotated.
- Root and Soil Nutrition Calendars: Our multi-year soil care includes spring and fall deep root fertilization. In the fall, we apply a specialized root stimulator that enhances fine root hair growth while restricting nitrogen and iron, protecting your tree’s natural winter dormancy cycle.

Trees are susceptible to pests and disease. Spraying your trees can help mitigate these issues. Spraying your trees can help protect them from borers, beetles, and general insects that can stress your tree, making it more prone to disease.
The Emerald Ash Borer is running rampant through Denver. Once infested, there is no saving your ash tree. Mountain Pine Beetles and Ips Beetles are also making their way across the Front Range and invading pines and spruces. ArborScape offers sprays and injections to prevent these issues.
For effective, long-term insect control for trees, a targeted tree spraying is one of the best lines of defense at stopping active pests from destroying your tree.
The timing for spraying trees for insects can vary depending on the pest and the species of the tree.
For instance, we spray for IPS and mountain pine beetles in the spring and summer. We do a first spray in March to target the first generation before they can attack the tree, and then we do another spray in the summer to protect against any larvae that might have been laid in the tree.
Meanwhile, we do bark injections every other year on ash trees to protect against the Emerald Ash Borer. These treatments are done in June, after the leaves have budded out.
Our insecticides are not safe for animals or children. We recommend keeping them inside while your trees are being sprayed, and not touching anything until it’s dry. Luckily, this shouldn’t take longer than 45 minutes, even less when it’s super hot out. Our sprays contain a strong bonding agent that, once the spray dries to the trees, will help the chemical last up to six weeks!
Soil injections may last up to 225 days, depending on the health of your trees and shrubs. Bark injections usually lasts 30 to 75 days.
