Tree trimming is more than just a routine task; it’s a precise art that requires expert knowledge and hands-on experience.
Our skilled arborists understand the science behind tree growth and the techniques required to maintain their health and aesthetics. Our approach to tree trimming is not one-size-fits-all; we evaluate each tree’s unique needs and provide tailored solutions.
Having a certified arborist on site means having expert, up-to-date knowledge on how to evaluate and care for a tree; we see the little things other tree companies may not be able to.
We use state-of-the-art equipment and adhere to industry best practices to ensure each trim promotes the tree’s vitality by promoting healthy growth, improving air circulation, enhancing its natural shape, and minimizing risks such as breakage or spreading diseases.
Because there are different reasons to trim your trees, sometimes timing can play a huge role in how your tree fares throughout the year. However, our experienced crews can trim trees all year long as long as the weather allows.
Don’t worry—we won’t have our climbers in the trees during storms…although we do offer storm damage services if you need some broken branches cleaned up or total removal.
Reasons for Tree Trimming
Routine tree trimming is a good way to help prevent storm damage. Think of a tree’s canopy like an umbrella; the more wind and debris that catches on it, the more likely it is to snap or break. This type of trimming can be done year-round, but you’ll want to get it done before the snowy season kicks in.
Storm damage prevention is incredibly important to consider, especially depending on the size of your trees. Remember: the larger the tree, the larger the fall, and that can become costly and time-consuming. Let us ease your worries before they happen.
Tree trimming also helps prevent diseases from spreading throughout the tree. While we have spray treatments to help with some diseases, sometimes it’s also a good idea to prune the diseased part away before it gets worse.
Fruit trees need to be trimmed in the winter, as they are most susceptible to fireblight. However, this disease is dormant in the winter, making it safe to trim. And if you have a fruit-bearing tree, it can help promote the growth of new, healthy fruit.
Typically, any type of trimming is best done in late winter and early spring to promote new growth. As the days slowly get warmer, the tree begins to send energy to sprout new leaves. That energy will also go toward healing the fresh cuts and will allow healthier branches to reach out too.
While routine trimming is important for your tree’s overall health, we know it can get pricey to consistently care for your trees. That’s why we offer 5% discounts to seniors and veterans! We also offer a 10% discount during the winter months. And if you need a lot of tree care done, know that we don’t have to complete everything all at once, we can do one line item at a time if that’s what you need.
Know that sometimes what we may think is a trim can actually be a removal. If the terminal bud (top, main stem) dies out, or if there’s too much dead, or if the tree is actually hollow; these are all things that may end up turning into a removal.
Rather than have you spend up to thousands of dollars just to save the tree, sometimes the best option is to remove and replace.
If you have any concerns about your trees and if they need any trimming, don’t hesitate to give us a call or fill out a contact form. Our arborists will head out to your property for a full examination and provide a free quote for some treatment options.
