ArborScape's Tree Trimming and Removal Services
With warmer weather, we’re finally starting to see the buds on the trees starting to burst through! However, with this new growth, it’s easy to see where there isn’t growth. But don’t panic over dying tree limbs or a diseased trunk! This is where ArborScape’s tree trimming and removal services come in handy.
While it’s easy to dismiss wiley branches in the winter, spring can make it pretty obvious where the dead or diseased branches are, as the limbs will appear sparse and sometimes discolored.
We offer quite a few services that can be important for the overall health of your trees, and our certified arborists are happy to provide free estimates with a variety of options for optimal tree health- whether that be tree trimming, a full removal, or even insect control and root fertilizations.
Should I Trim My Tree?
Like us, trees have physical signs that help us know when it’s time to call in the professionals. Here are some of the signs to look out for.
- Dead/Diseased Limbs: Dead or diseased tree limbs will be bare when foliage should be plentiful. Some tree diseases stem from fungi in the soil or even pests feeding from surrounding trees. If you don’t trim these limbs off soon, the disease can spread, resulting in the need for total tree removal.
- Weak Branches: Weak branches can be caused by a few things, such as overgrowth, putting too much weight on the branch, or disease. Whatever the case may be, if you notice any bowing branches or if they’re snapping too easily, it’s time for a trim.
- Misshapen Limbs: While trees grow in unique ways, sometimes they can branch out sporadically toward your home or over even your neighbor’s. Or your tree may be too dense with uneven weight distribution through the limbs. The combination of extra weight and limbs and roots stretching beyond their capacity has the potential to cause immense property damage.
- Overgrowth/Density: Speaking of dense trees, while we love to celebrate growth, sometimes too much of a good thing can be bad. So, while healthy growth of a tree is great, it can get to a point where you can’t see through the foliage, meaning the tree has become too dense. A dense tree can be hazardous during storms, as the limbs have become too heavy to hold up the extra weight.
Should I Remove My Tree?
At ArborScape, we understand the sentimental and ecological value each tree adds to Denver’s urban canopy. We take great care in nurturing residential and commercial trees throughout their lifecycle.
However, sometimes, tree removal becomes an unfortunate but necessary step for safety, aesthetics, or the tree's health. Here are some reasons you may need to remove your tree.
- Disease: With our Colorado soils and temperatures, trees are already prone to stress, making them an easy target for pests to increase the damage. While we have treatment plans to keep your trees safe and healthy, sometimes the tree is too far gone to save.
- Too Old: With some species, after a certain point, the tree can’t properly absorb nutrients from the soil. This can cause the tree to start eating itself by sapping nutrients from its limbs and causing it to rot from the inside.
- Hollow Tree: Hollow trees can also act as a cozy home for all sorts of pests and critters that can then wreak havoc on the rest of your yard. Hollow trees are also weak and can be easily damaged in storms, potentially causing damage to your property.
While we know it can be hard to lose a tree, we’re also happy to help with replanting options so that you can continue to benefit from a healthy tree.
