Why choose an arborist for your tree care needs? While it may be easier to call the cheapest company, that doesn’t necessarily mean your trees will receive the care they actually need. At ArborScape, we care about sustainability and keeping our planet healthy.
The next couple of weeks are some big ones for our arborists here at ArborScape. First, we have Earth Day, then Arbor Day, and finally, we have National Apprenticeship Week!
It’s no coincidence that Earth Day coincides as the same week as Arbor Day. Both are holidays that celebrate the planting, upkeep, and preservation of trees.
Earth Day 2026
This year’s theme is, “Our Power, Our Planet”, a call to action for everyone, as every action matters when it comes to keeping our planet clean and healthy.
At ArborScape, every day is Earth Day. Keeping Denver’s trees healthy helps keep our planet healthy. From caring for soil health and root development, all the way to the removal and recycling that wood, we’re all about finding sustainable solutions to the effects on our planet.
Our journeymen arborists understand and appreciate the role trees play in our lives and environment, which is why we take great measures to learn, understand, and care for Denver’s commercial and residential trees.
What is an Arborist?
Arborist: noun; a trained professional specializing in the care, maintenance, and cultivation of trees and woody plants.
This training and education is more than just learning about basic tree care; these ‘tree doctors’ must demonstrate a high level of understanding in how to recognize and care for trees and plants.
It goes even beyond all the environmental factor comprehension, like soil health, root development, tree location and placement, tree anatomy, tree health mitigation (including proper pruning and removal). Arborists also need to showcase safe equipment management.
Why Choose an Arborist?
Certified arborists are required to stay updated on the industry’s latest techniques and adhere to specific ethics in order to maintain their credentials. Having this knowledge can be a tremendous bonus in a lot of different fields.
Having an advocate for trees means you’ll receive top-notch advice for all your tree care projects, whether it’s working in landscaping, construction, or farming.
Why Choose ArborScape
ArborScape isn’t your typical tree care company. ArborScape is headed by David Merriman and Jeff Disler, both ISA certified arborists with their own specialties in the arboriculture field and a combined 50+ years of Denver tree care experience.
David also instructs an arborist apprenticeship program through ArborScape, meaning our crews are journeyman arborists or are training under one.
Our arborists have learned safe tree climbing, proper utility management, and have applied sciences to assess risk management in the trees as well as surrounding factors in the landscape like powerlines or building interference.
ArborScape provides more than just tree trimming and tree removals; we also focus on total tree care, which includes root fertilizations, soil injections, and insect spraying.
We are licensed in all five Denver Metro Area cities requiring tests: Aurora, Denver, Lakewood, Englewood, and Wheat Ridge, and we are more than happy to provide our clients with copies of this and our insurance upon request.
And since we’re locally owned, we stay incredibly involved with our community. Alongside our apprenticeship program, we work alongside different nonprofits to help assist Denver’s workforce, forestry departments, and educate all those interested in the importance of tree care.
